INTREPID SEASON OF EXTRAORDINARY PLAYS!
New Plays in the Pacific Northwest!
The Pacific Play Company's mission is to present new American plays with an emphasis on local writers and world premieres. The Pacific Play Company was founded in 2011 as part of the independent theatre movement. What is independent theatre? To us, it means relying on and investing in our immediate theatre community. It means dedicating ourselves to ensuring the growth of our local artists by working with the incredible talent that already exists in the city of Seattle. It means utilizing our resources to create local theatre projects of excellence. This year we will not only strive to present cutting-edge new plays but we will generate and create two new shows for the company. In May playwrights Kelleen Conway Blanchard, Keiko Green, Justin Ison, Morgan Ludlow, Scotto Moore, Juliet Waller Pruzan and Jennifer Roberts worked together to create, develop workshop and present two new shows from scratch. In September of 2015 we presented the Seattle premiere of the award-winning comedy, EVERYBODY HERE SAYS HELLO! by Stuart Bousel and a brand new evening of shorts, CRIME & ROCKETS. In December we will present the 2nd show from this collaboration, TALL TALES OF THE UNNATURAL FRONTIER, a collection of cowboy noir stories and Morgan Ludlow's RUTH AND THE SEA. A moving holiday story about a grandmother's dying wish to see the ocean before she dies. It's all presented by artists in the community, and it's coming to a theatre near you!
